I need a magic shopping fairy every time I go to the mall
Today was a day of victory for me in the world of clothes shopping. Something that I absolutely loathe doing for myself. Mainly because I have to try almost every single item on and 9 times out of 10 I hate everything I try on. Unless my mom is with me. She is like some magical clothes shopping fairy that makes the process so much less painful for me. Every time. Including today.
Which is awesome since I desperately need some new clothes. Lots of new clothes to be specific—from socks to shirts and everything in between. Seriously. I feel like every pair of socks I pull out of the drawer have a hole in them that wasn’t there last time I wore them. My “nice pants” that I wear to work were the first pants I bought when I could fit into non-maternity clothes again—over two years ago. My shoes are a disgrace and now that we are moving into the cold weather I’m wondering what the hell happened to all my sweaters and long-sleeved shirts.
So, I need some new clothes. A couple of days ago I bought a kick ass new pair of boots and a pair of black shoes. And today I went shopping with my mom—who skipped the Michigan game just so we could shop together—and walked out of the mall feeling victorious. Now, I only picked up three things but still. I found a cute top (that I can wear with jeans, dress pants, or a skirt), an awesome black wrap with the same functionality as the shirt, and picked up a cute pair of panties from Victoria’s Secret (which cost exactly zero dollars). The two shirts were on sale and I got both of them for less than the original cost of one. Score!
So while I’m far from a new well-stocked wardrobe, after today I feel a little bit better about what’s hanging in my closet next to all those skeletons.

Yay for new clothes! Sounds like you picked up good stuff, though– items that will go with other things. Did you get that “free panty” coupon in the mail from VS? I’ve collected about 4 pairs of those free panties from those coupons! (Sadly, I have also found that the quality of the free ones is nowhere near as nice as the panties you need to pay for. The fabric gives out near the waistband after a few months. But… I don’t know what this says about me, I keep on wearing them anyway. Me and my shabby panties. At least no one’s looking in there these days! I can get away with it.)

That’s exactly where I got the free panty! I managed to make that the only thing I got at VS too. Yay willpower.

I love getting my free panties. It’s the only time I go to VS since their stuff is usually way overpriced and falls apart fast.

Great idea this, see you then. I should just give up and take lessons from you
