Sleep is for the weak

Somebody recently found my blog using the search term “I want another baby but I’m tired”. Ha! No shit. You will ALWAYS be tired. I haven’t had a good night’s sleep in almost three years. I go to bed too late and have to get up way too early. Not usually by choice, but because of the little voice calling “Mommy…mommy” at 6:30 in the morning.

But that’s okay.

I’ll get a really good night’s sleep again someday. Until then I’ll savor the mornings when G-tot wakes up too early and I bring him into our bed so the three of us can sleep a little longer. One of these days he will be to big for us to do that. One of these days he won’t want to.

If we have another, getting up every couple of hours throughout the night will be a bitch. I’m sure I will cry over lack of sleep. “Sleep when they sleep” is a myth and probably impossible when you have more than one kid.

But that’s okay.

I know those moments won’t last forever either and someday I may even miss them. Even if I am a crazy zombie woman for the next several years.

  • sleep when they sleep is a total myth, unless you are a super crappy mom.

sleep when you can, more like it.

we’ll all be okay in the tail end of it. “Sleep when you’re dead”, my grandma always said.

You could look at it another way, and realize that crazy zombie women can be a LOT of fun. Very entertaining; and, ironically, often the life of any party. ;)
