This is me on January 16th. The day that would—like others have in the past—change my life forever.

It’s been eleven days since a piece of my soul died. Eleven days. And while I’m no longer crying uncontrollably over my loss, the sadness is still there. All you have to do is look into my eyes to see it.

But I’m getting better.

Your loss is a very real loss and grieving takes time. Hang in there.

know what? You look great! Liking the top and the necklace.
(but yeah, I can see it in your eyes… I’m so sorry Pixie – I wish on all the stars, upon all the wishes, that you weren’t going through this, I wish that I could turn back time, and everything would be okay…
Many hugs.

I’m just working my way through it the best I can. I think it’s working.

I think grieving is probably the hardest thing a human can go through. Kind words, love and support help, but it can be so lonely – because it’s something you essentially have to deal with in your own mind and heart. I have thought you of so many times over the last twelve days. My thoughts have been for you to find some peace. Love ya.

All of you… the grief and willingness to be open about, too… is simply beautiful. You are a complete person, a woman of nuances and you wear your life experiences well.

Me too. Maybe someday way down the line I’ll understand why. Right now it just sucks.

I see strength in those eyes too. Strength behind the loss. That is something that so many people lack and I admire you greatly so it. You are an inspiration to women everywhere.

I hope you see the same strength in your eyes when you look in the mirror. If you can’t right now, try seeing mine instead. Hugs.
