Thank You

For the words you have written. For every “Sorry” you have spoken. For the hugs you have given—virtual or physical.

Thank you for being exactly the kind of online community I’ve grown to connect with and love for so many years. I have read each one of your comments more than once and I can’t begin to tell you how much they mean to me. JQ is reading them. My mom is reading them. My dad is probably reading them. My loss is their loss and heartache. I imagine your words are also helping them heal.

Thank you.

For the card. For the email. For the book. For the meal. For the message left on my office voice mail after watching me completely not keep it together in front of the class, thank you. It was sweet and awkward. It made me cry. All of it has made me cry.

Thank you for calling me strong. Courageous. Admirable.

Those words are very powerful and I’m not sure how deserving I am of them. But thank you.

Thank you for every kind gesture you have made over the last week. They mean more than you know.

NO! I bit myself a few times after posting this having realized the meaning I meant to convey and the wording didn’t match up. Which is why I posted the second comment. :-D

Holly, You deserve 12,582 high-fives for how awesome you are (seriously, I calculated it). And we will all have your back when you’re ready to show this crazy thing called life, who’s boss. :)

Thanks. Although, I’d like to know more about this formula you used to calculate that number. :)

I’ve only met you once in person but have read hundreds of tweets, dozens of facebook posts and lots of blog posts, but I was blown away by how honest you were with all that occured. Given your writing skills and your experience you seem like a great candidate to help others by writing a book. (or pamphlet? Thomas Paine wrote pamphlets) Or maybe a new blog devoted to helping others?
Anyway, be strong and good luck! :)

Wow Craig. Those are incredibly generous words. I’ve never really thought my writing skills were strong enough to be published. The mere suggestion of it is mind boggling.

Hi, HP. I’ve known you since 6th grade and now find myself following your heartrending journey of confusion, fear, realization and grief. Years ago, I lost two babies, and I chose to be very private about it. For me, that is what worked. Aside from my husband, I never even told my family about one. Seeing your situation chronicled and witnessing the incredible love and support you’ve received has been a kind of therapy for me. It’s been a time to reflect, remember and be at peace. So for that, Thank You.
