Masthead 1, March–May 2009
This is the first masthead for artistmotherteacher.com. It was a far cry from the look of the masthead at my old blog with the exception of one detail, the small flourishes on the left hand side. I put that in as a connection element between the old and the new. This is still one of my favorite photo-based mastheads ever. The picture—which I did not take for use in a masthead at all—cropped nicely to include both me and enough empty space for the text.

Masthead 2, June—August 2009
This one creeped quite a few people out. They saw the bunny as dead instead of well loved and worn. To me it was a crayon cityscape on the walls and lovey l tossed on the floor. This also marks the addition of the tagline “sometimes I have no idea what I’m doing” to my masthead. I think it sums up my life pretty accurately.
