And I am super excited about it.
Showing my work in a gallery setting is something that I haven’t done in a long time. Years in fact. So long that I put it down as an item on my 101 in 1001 list to remedy that matter. Because obviously if it’s on the list it will get done. Right? Isn’t that how that works—write it down and it forces you to make it happen? Or at the very least it forces you to see what you failed to accomplish.
But I digress. The gallery exhibition.
It’s not just MY exhibition. It’s an exhibition that showcases various work created by me and three of my colleagues. And each one of us has a completely different style. Which is super cool. Paintings, posters, photography, comics, illustrations, intaglio prints, and more. Each exuding vital information about the personality of its creator.
I constructed all the frames for my work last night and tightened the final screw about 1 a.m. This morning I met two of my colleagues down at the gallery and we hung the show. We still have a few minor details to attend to—bios, tags, etc.—but are pretty much ready to go.
The opening is Thursday and should be loads of fun. There will be wine, beer, food, and plenty of art and design work to look at. The show itself will run through the end of the month.
So if you are in the Toledo area I’d love it if you stopped by for the opening. After all, don’t you want to know what this Artist Mother Teacher is all about?
